It’s past my Japanese bedtime, so this will be quick. I’ll just say that Japan does, as rumored, have lots and lots of snow. Light snow Monday evening kept up all night and through most of Tuesday, and it was DEEP. We spent most of the day lapping an out-of-bounds area near the gondola, ending up in a nearby neighborhood where we could ski back to the lifts. Widely spaced trees, some open slopes (which we largely avoided for avalanche safety) and plenty of powder. Here are some highlights (Tom in blue, Brian in red):
Not a bad 23rd birthday for Tommy.
